Fernande was born in Matane "metropolis of the Gaspésie". She is the 12th child in a family of 14. The harsh reality of a Quebec family growing up in that era demanded a lot of energy, courage and resourcefulness. Since a young age, Fernande had been working in her family's business. Her mother looked after all her children, while still in ownership of a garage and convenience store. Entrepreneurial skills were a major influence in the household. Several brothers and sisters work in sales to this day. At the age of 19, she left her corner of the country to establish herself in the Outaouais. She immediately became enchanted by the beauty of the region, its dynamic people and its proximity to nature. For a while, she worked at the Dussault book stores in Ottawa and Hull before settling in Poland and Switzerland due to her husband's occupation. Her role as a diplomatic spouse was both pleasant and demanding. Her status enabled her to meet very interesting people from all walks of life and from all cultures. However, numerous receptions required endless energy, availability and a good sense of organization. Her simplicity and her warmth enabled her to be appreciated as a Quebecer all the while well representing her country. Upon her return to the country, she begins a search for her first homestead. That first home buying experience made her realize the importance of knowing and respecting the needs of the client as well as the absolute necessity of accompaning the buyer along each step of the home buying process no matter how trivial the step may seem. She had made her decision; she would become a real estate agent. Fernande concluded her training and began to openly share her newly aquired knowledge and skills. She begins to respect peoples' hesitations and fears by being sensitive to their needs and dreams. She acts reassuringly, however does not hesitate to forewarn when necessary, because she does not want a person's dream to turn into a nightmare. Very early on in her practice, Fernande experienced exceptional success that has since not waned or been refuted. Her clients from the early days are not only loyal but they also refer her to their family and friends. However she does not rest idle on her laurels. She constantly keeps abreast of factors that influence the housing market as she has the most up-to-date communication tools available . Fernande still shares the sum of all her knowledge gained over the last eighteen years in business with the same enthusiasm, generosity and the energy as she did in the beginning of her career. She does not hesitate to share her numerous business contacts and to put them in contact with her clients. Even some of Fernande's competitors do not hesitate to say that she is their mentor and is an institution in the Outaouais real estate world. On average she sells one property every 28 hours.
